Meet the Band: Checkmate

CheckmateThe entertainment for Friday Fest will be held between Cobb’s and Tiki with the band Checkmate. Checkmate is a seasoned group of professionals who love playing classic rock n roll, blues and 80’s. They have been rocking together for years; enjoying their fans and playing beautiful music.

Jeff Brown, from iHeart Media, will also be at the July Friday Fest entertaining the crowd with Top 40 music.

IMG_2524Common Ground Vineyard Church will be at Friday Fest to present historic demonstrations around the fountain area across the library. Pastor Todd and the gang will have a replica war cannon that they will shoot off at 6:00 pm, 7:00 pm, 8:00 pm and 9:00 pm just in time to begin the mini fireworks show.

All in Fun. Inc, has teamed up with Main Street Fort Pierce to provide children’s activities during Friday Fest. The children’s activities include a Giant Slide and a bounce house. Have your face painted by Masquerade Expressions.

Arts & crafts vendors will line up in front of the Indian River in Marina Square.
Make sure you bring your appetite when you come to Friday Fest. The food variety includes Greek, Latin, BBQ ribs & chicken, seafood, Americana, and various snack items.

Admission is always FREE at Friday Fest and there is always plenty of food, music, and activities for all ages! Parking Garage is open and free for your parking convenience!

NightflyNightfly is a high-energy band which formed 3 1/2 years ago in Sebastian FL. Playing their brand of Rock &Roll, funk and R&B, crowds have been enjoying music ranging from Stevie Ray Vaughn to Stevie Wonder…from Bonnie Raitt and John Mayer to Average White Band to Sly and the Family Stone.

They are currently finishing work on a CD of 10 of their original songs which have been wowing their fans and will soon be released to the world.

MEET THE BAND FOR MAY FRIDAY FEST

Category 5 & The Storm Horns is a Treasure Coast based Blues Band. Established in 2008 They have performed from Gainesville Florida down to Boca Raton Florida. Their home town favorite regular venues are Waldo’s and Crawdaddys! The Band is headed up by Al Nawrocki (Band Leader) bass man, vocalist, and booking agent for the band. Gerry Mullaney is the guitarist, vocalist, James Archer on tenor sax, and Mark Patten on drums.
They feature a horn section that can include trumpet and trombone player.This is as Bluesy as it gets. They also kick butt with some swing, r&b, and jazz instrumentals!

Hailing from South Florida, The DevilsCut delivers one of the most energetic shows around! Deep, harmonious vocals performed by Daniel Keith will leave you wanting more! Daniel’s West Virginia Roots help create an authentic, country sound in all of the songs performed.

The show is glued together with one of the strongest rhythm sections in the area. Joe DeCosa never holds back on giving the audience a “WOW” with his smooth guitar technique. The guitar sound is amplified with the thunderous bass tones by Dominic DeCosa, creating one of the tightest and grooviest country sounds in the area. Out on Bail 10-31-14Out On Bail is a 6 piece band made up of long time Fort Pierce residents Mitch Hilburn (drums and vocals), Bill Smith (lead guitar), Duane “Smitty” Smith (Bass guitar), Larry Chapman (lead vocalist) and David Williams(harmonica and vocals). The band added keyboardist Mike Hankins, who returned from Nashville after touring with the Brian Collins Band. Out On Bail’s music selection covers a wide variety of genres ranging from Rock to Country, and emphasizes strong vocals and background harmonies.
