On Friday, March 16, 2012, 8:00 am the Fort Pierce Jazz and Blues Society will sponsor Coffee with the Mayor. President, Don Bestor Jr. and board members will be at Coffee with the Mayor entertaining the crowd, promoting their many upcoming events and explaining the mission of the Fort Pierce Jazz & Blues Society. Their mission is:
“The mission of the Fort Pierce Jazz & Blues Society is to promote the growth, appreciation and performance of Jazz and Blues ~ two great American Music Art Forms ~ through annual scholarship awards, educational workshops, clinics and master classes, weekly jazz jams, tri-annual Waterside Blues Festivals, Mardi Gras and Jazz Week celebrations and community outreach programs.” 
Also at this month’s Coffee with the Mayor, Mayor Bob Benton and East Coast Lumber will present the Golden Hammer Awards. These awards are given to homes and businesses that have made improvements to their property for the betterment of the community. East Coast Lumber is the proud sponsor of the Golden Hammer Awards.
Coffee with the Mayor is held every third Friday of the month at HistoricCity Hall on 315 Avenue A in downtown Fort Pierce. The event begins at 8:00 am and is a positive networking experience for those that attend. Businesses, community organizations, and newcomers to the area are welcome to share information about upcoming events or activities occurring in theTreasure Coast region.
